Apple just pulled a fresh product out of its hat. The new iPad Pro comes in two sizes, has trackpad support, and a sleek keyboard cover.
Looking like your usual iPad Pro, it comes in 11-inch and 12.9-inch size variants. It’s powered by an eight-core A12Z Bionic CPU which is an upgrade from the previous A12X Bionic chip. Imaging is handled by a tandem of a 12-megapixel sensor and a 10-megapixel ultra-wide camera. It’s also equipped with a LiDAR sensor that can be used for depth-sensing and augmented reality applications.
The display sports a fluid refresh rate of 120Hz which should be a joy when it comes to gaming and other visually reliant tasks. It also has the company’s True Tone technology that should make reading a lot easier on the eyes.
Apart from the boost in computing power, you also get faster Wi-Fi and LTE connections and microphones that Apple claims are now broadcast quality.
Additionally, the new iPad Pro now comes with an interesting keyboard. Called the Magic Keyboard, it comes with backlit keys, a trackpad, and a hinge that offers versatility of movement for the iPad.
It basically unfolds and lifts the iPad to a more natural viewing orientation so it kind of looks like a floating iPad in front of you. Apple was also excited about its built-in trackpad since it has also been updated. The cursor now transforms to highlight user interface elements so it looks more like a regular cursor on a desktop computer.
This new keyboard accessory will set you back US$ 299 or US$ 349 depending on the size of iPad Pro you get. It will be available starting May.
